Generic Strattera (Atomoxetine) is prescribed mainly for the treatment of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) in both children and adults. ADHD is marked by either a need for constant activity, movement, an inability to stay focused, or a combination of. This medication works by helping to restore a natural balance of neurotransmitters in the brain
Take Generic Strattera as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more or less than prescribed or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions exactly as written on the prescription label.
This medication should be taken with a full glass of water.
Generic Strattera is generally taken once a day, but can be taken either in the morning or late afternoon.
It is important to take Strattera on a regular basis to receive maximum benefit.
Seek emergency medical assistance if you experience any of the following signs of an allergic reaction to Generic Strattera: difficulty breathing; hives; swelling of your tongue, face, lips, or throat.shortness of breath, chest pain, a fast or uneven heartbeat; lightheadedness; aggression, hallucinations, unusual thoughts or behavior; nausea, itching, loss of appetite, pain in the upper stomach, dark colored urine, clay-colored stools, increased blood pressure (blurred vision, buzzing in your ears, severe headache, anxiety, seizure, confusion), jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes); urinating less than usual or even not at all; numbness, burning pain, or tingling.
Stop taking Generic Strattera and speak to your doctor urgently if you experience any serious side effects such as:
irritability; dizziness or drowsiness; constipation; dry mouth cough; skin rash or itching; insomnia; increased severity of menstrual cramps; impotence, trouble reaching an orgasm or loss of interest in sex.

Avoid using or handling a broken capsule or a capsule that somehow opened. If the medication inside the capsule gets into your eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water and give your doctor a call. Strattera may impair your thought processing or reaction time. Be careful when driving or any activity that requires you to be alert.
Do not use Generic Strattera if you are allergic to the ingredient atomoxetine or if you have medical issues, primarily glaucoma or pheochromocytoma (tumor of the adrenal gland).
Speak with your physician about all other medications you currently are taking, especially: amiodarone (Cordarone, Pacerone); albuterol (Proventil, Ventolin); bupropion (Wellbutrin, Zyban); doxorubicin (Adriamycin); methadone (Dolophine, Methadose); celecoxib (Celebrex); cimetidine (Tagamet); metoclopramide (Reglan); ritonavir (Norvir, Kaletra); ranitidine (Zantac); quinidine (Quin-G); terbinafine (Lamisil); antidepressants such as clomipramine (Anafranil), citalopram (Celexa); escitalopram (Lexapro), fluvoxamine (Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac, Sarafem), paroxetine (Paxil), or sertraline (Zoloft); antihistamines or sleep aid medication such as chlorpheniramine (Chlor-Trimeton and others) or diphenhydramine (Unisom, Benadryl, and others).
This is not a complete list and other drugs may negatively interact with Generic Strattera.
If you somehow miss a dose, take it as soon as you recall. If it is close to the time of the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your usual dosing schedule. Do not take more than one dose at a time to catch up.
